As an independent business based in Leigh-on-Sea we know the importance of shopping local, so we’ve put together a series of guides on some the best small businesses (in our humble opinion) in our lovely little village.
If you’re visiting Leigh-on-Sea for the first time, or you are a local yourself, why don’t you pop into one of the businesses listed below for a perusal? Remember – every time you support a small business an actual person does a happy dance!
Puddle & Goose
First on our list is gift shop, Puddle & Goose. One look into their expertly displayed windows and you’ll be lusting over everything you set your eyes on. From their gorgeous smelling homemade candles and bath bombs, to their abundance of trinkets and accessorise, you’ll be hard-pressed NOT to find the perfect gift for someone special.
After the runaway success (pun intended) of The Great British Sewing Bee, it’s never been a better (or more popular) time to take up sewing as a hobby. Belle Fabrics have been serving Leigh-on-Sea for over 50 years and they have a great selection of fabrics and haberdashery to choose from. Plus, they also stock a variety of patterns for you to get started on. Not only is it a great way to make your wardrobe unique, we’ve also heard sewing is great for mindfulness too!

The Refill Room
We couldn’t leave out The Refill Room, Leigh-on-Seas first zero waste store! They invite you to bring your own containers and jars to fill with their products, which include pasta, rice, cereal and beans to name a few. Their mission is to eradicate single use plastic in order to save the planet from plastic pollution, so if you’re trying to live a bit more greener then you definitely need to drop by, don’t forget your reusable bags!

Greens Health Foods
A local haven for vegans, Greens Health Foods is stocked with an abundance of plant-based goodies and has done so for as long as we can remember. From coconut water, to your favourite nut butter, you’ll never have to go on the hunt for a cruelty-free snack again. Plus, the service is outstanding and their super friendly staff know their stuff!
